Bowling Green quarterback Jarret Doege transferred to West Virginia on Wednesday.

Mountaineers coach Neal Brown announced Doege has enrolled in classes. Doege must sit out the 2019 season and will be eligible to play two more seasons.

Doege started all 12 games for the Falcons as a sophomore in 2018. He completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,600 yards and threw 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He led the Mid-American Conference in passing touchdowns and yards.

The Lubbock, Texas, native also became the first true freshman to start a game at quarterback for Bowling Green since Brian McClure in 1982.

Brown was the offensive coordinator at Texas Tech earlier this decade when Doege’s older brother, Seth, broke several school passing records.
