Westmoreland Campus Clippings: Norwin’s Reilly Parker to coach at W&J

Norwin graduate Reilly Parker is joining the women’s volleyball coaching staff at Washington & Jefferson, giving her a return to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference in a new capacity.

Parker was a standout player at Bethany, where she was a three-time All-PAC First Team selection.

She was named the 2022 Ohio Valley Volleyball Company Coach of the Year. A former libero, Parker was the PAC Rookie of the Year in 2015 and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament as a sophomore and senior.

She works as a special education teacher at Wheeling Middle School.

Wrestling

Pitt: Micky Phillippi (Derry) is coming back for a fifth season. The 133-pounder, All-American and two-time ACC champion is a four-time NCAA qualifier.

The 2020-21 season does not count against athletic eligibility.

Phillippi has 116 career wins.

Track & field

Westminster: Graduate Ryan Beard (Franklin Regional) was selected as the Division III Commissioner’s Association (DIIICA) Region VII Student-Athlete of the Year.

Beard, an All-American with the 400-meter relay team, is now in consideration for the DIIICA Men’s Sport Student-Athlete of the Year.

He completed a three-year accelerated undergraduate program in accounting and posted a 4.0 GPA.
