Trio of Penn State defenders selected 1st-team All-Big Ten

Penn State defensive ends Adisa Isaac and Chop Robinson earned first-team All-Big Ten selections on Tuesday, as did linebacker Abdul Carter.

Robinson was selected to the first team by the conference’s coaches and media, Isaac was a first-team media choice and Carter was a first-team selection by the coaches.

Isaac was a second-team coaches’ choice, and Carter was a second-team media selection.

Nittany Lions cornerback Kalen King was a second-team choice by the coaches and the media.

PSU had three defenders selected to the coaches’ third team — end Dani Dennis-Sutton and corners Johnny Dixon and Daequan Hardy.

Hardy was selected second-team return specialist, and Alex Felkins was named third-team kicker by the coaches.

Here is the list of Penn State’s honorable mention choices: linebacker Kobe King (coaches, media), defensive back Jaylen Reed (coaches, media), defensive back Kevin Winston Jr. (coaches, media), linebacker Curtis Jacobs (coaches), defensive lineman Zane Durant (media) and defensive lineman Dvon Ellies (media), punter Riley Thompson (coaches) and kick returner Nicholas Singleton (coaches).

Robinson, a third-year Lion who missed two games due to an undisclosed injury, registered 7.5 tackles for loss, four of them sacks. He had five quarterback hurries.

Isaac, a member of PSU’s 2019 recruiting class, led Penn State in tackles for loss (15) and sacks (7.5) during the regular season. He also had four quarterback hurries.

Carter, a second-year Lion, produced 46 tackles. He had 5.5 tackles for loss, including four sacks, and Carter added five quarterback hurries and four pass breakups.

The All-Big Ten offensive teams will be revealed Wednesday afternoon.

Northwestern’s David Braun was named Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Illinois’ Jer’Zhan Newton was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Ohio State’s Tommy Eichenberg was named Big Ten Linebacker of the Year.

Iowa’s Cooper DeJean was named Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year and Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year.

The Lions (10-2) concluded their regular season with a 42-0 win over Michigan State at Ford Field in Detroit last Friday.
