On the day the Pittsburgh Steelers introduced their newest addition to their wide receivers corps, the organization announced it was bringing back another veteran to the position room.
This one, though, might not contribute as much as a wide receiver as he will on special teams.
Miles Boykin signed a one-year contract to return for a second season with the Steelers. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Boykin caught only two passes last season, but was one of seven Steelers to play more than 200 special-teams snaps for the team in 2022.

A five-year NFL veteran who was a third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens out of Notre Dame in 2019, the Steelers acquired Boykin via a waiver claim last spring. Boykin, 26, has 35 career receptions for 481 yards and seven touchdowns.
But Boykin quickly established himself as a trusted veteran voice among a young receivers group for the Steelers last season. He is a candidate to perhaps join Miles Killebrew as special-teams captain in 2023. Four of the six players who played more special-teams snaps than Boykin last season are no longer with the organization.

On offense, Boykin currently slots behind starters Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, newly signed Allen Robinson, second-year player Calvin Austin III and veteran Anthony Miller on the receiver depth chart. The Steelers also figure to add another receiver in the draft or as an undrafted free agent this week.
