The Pittsburgh Steelers are still without defensive star T.J. Watt. A starting cornerback likewise remains out, and they also might be missing another player or two during Sunday’s game.
The Steelers won’t get any sympathy from their opponent, though. The Buffalo Bills listed 17 players on the official league-mandated injury report. The Bills on Friday ruled out five players, including three starters, for Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against the Steelers, and four other significant contributors enter the weekend deemed as “questionable.”
All Pro safety Jordan Poyer (ribs), who leads the NFL with four interceptions, is among those who won’t play for Buffalo (1-3). Other starters out are tight end Dawson Knox (foot/hamstring) and cornerback Christian Benford (hand), as are depth receivers Jamison Crowder (ankle) and Jake Kumerow (ankle).

A pair of starting defensive tackles, Ed Oliver (ankle) and Jordan Phillips (hamstring), are listed as questionable, as is two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (hamstring). Edmunds, the brother of starting Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds, did not practice all week for the Bills.
Also questionable for Buffalo is slot receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who was a limited practice participant the past two days while in NFL concussion protocol.
The Steelers’ Terrell Edmunds similarly is in protocol, joining cornerback Cameron Sutton (groin/hamstring) as questionable for the Steelers. But the rest of the Steelers who were on their injury report were cleared to play: receiver Dionate Johnson (hip), center Mason Cole (foot) and defensive linemen Chris Wormley (ankle) and Cameron Heyward (ankle/elbow).
Cornerback Levi Wallace (foot) and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee) also were deemed healthy enough to play Sunday, but cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon will miss his second consecutive game because of a hamstring injury.
