The coach from the start in 2003, Marc Marizzaldi has molded the Seton Hill baseball program into a model of consistency, on a local and national scale.

He has constructed top-tier recruiting classes, cultivated a winning culture and helped turn the Griffins into a Division II power.

Over time, wins add up, and Friday night, Marizzaldi reached another career milestone with his 600th victory.

“Maz” was 600-312 heading into Saturday’s home doubleheader against Pitt-Johnstown, the team the Griffins swept Friday on the road to give Marizzaldi wins 599 and 600.

The Griffins were 30-4 overall and 22-4 in the PSAC West.

“Let’s get 600 more,” Marizzaldi wrote in a social media post, thanking all of his former players, coaches, colleagues, and his wife, Debbi, for years of success. “I’m blessed beyond words. Every one of those victories has been earned by Griffin players. I’m just the one person lucky enough to witness the hard work, belief and competitive spirit the players invested into great outcomes.”

Seton Hill has averaged 35 wins per season under Marizzaldi and has eight regular-season titles, five conference titles and two College World Series trips (2006, ’14). The Griffins made the NCAA Division II Tournament nine straight times from 2010-18.
