Robert Morris will open 2019 football season against Buffalo of the MAC

Robert Morris football will step up in class when it visits Buffalo of the Mid-American Conference for its opener Aug. 29. The game will mark Robert Morris’ first game against an FBS school.

Buffalo won 10 of its first 12 games last season and claimed the championship of the MAC’s East Division before losing to Northern Illinois in the conference title game, 30-29, and Troy, 42-32, in the Dollar General Bowl.

In coach Bernard Clark’s second season, Robert Morris’ home opener will be the following week at 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at Joe Walton Stadium against Kentucky State before Dayton visits for Homecoming and a 3 p.m. kickoff Sept. 14.

The next four games are on the road at VMI (Sept. 21),Youngstown State (Sept. 28), Saint Francis (Oct. 12) and Wagner (Oct. 19).

Four of the next five are at home against Bryant (Oct. 26), Long Island (Nov. 2), Duquesne (Nov. 9) and the finale Nov. 23 against Sacred Heart. The Colonials also travel to Central Connecticut on Nov. 16.

The Colonials finished 2-9 last season, including an 0-6 record in the conference.
