Former Robert Morris forward Koby Thomas has transferred to Coppin State, according to the university’s athletics website.

Coppin State reports the 6-foot-6 junior is on scholarship. Under NCAA guidelines, Thomas will have to sit out one year.

Coppin State, located in Baltimore, Md., was 8-25 in 2018-19. It is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Thomas played in only 20 of 35 games in 2018-19, made one start and averaged 7.3 points. He started in all 33 games his freshman season and averaged 12 points and 6.9 rebounds. He began his career with a 22-point effort against Ohio State.

He follows a long list of star players to transfer away from Robert Morris after two seasons.

The list includes: Dachon Burke (to Nebraska after the 2018 season), Isaiah Still (to Iona in 2017), Elijah Minnie (to Eastern Michigan in 2016) and Rodney Pryor (to Georgetown in 2016) and Marquise Reed (to Clemson in 2015). Chris Coalmon also entered his name in the transfer portal in April.
