Robert Morris’ Jaycee Gebhard selected in 1st round of NWHL draft

Robert Morris forward Jaycee Gebhard was selected in the first round (No. 6 overall) by the expansion Toronto franchise of the National Women’s Hockey League on Tuesday.

Gebhard, 22, recently completed her senior season at Robert Morris and finished as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 198 points (74 goals, 124 assists) in 139 games.

Serving as the team’s captain this winter, Gebhard, a native of Plenty, Saskatchewan, established a single-season school record with 63 points (20 goals, 43 assists) in 36 games.

The six-team league will be entering its sixth season in 2020-21.
