The Pittsburgh Passion women’s football team played a game for the first in two years Saturday and showed little rust in securing a 27-8 victory at Detroit.

Marceline Chavez caught a 46-yard TD pass and ran for a 54-yard score, Arielle Smith scored on a 3-yard run, and Ellie Mularski caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Alyssa George, all in the first half, en route to the victory.

The Passion defense had three interceptions, a fumble recovery, five pass deflections and four sacks.

Hannah Daman made 12 tackles to lead the effort. Lowanda Pearson, Jasmine Jones and Niaja Brokaw had interceptions.

The Passion will return to action April 30 when they host the Tri-State Warriors at West Allegheny High School.
