Baldwin graduate Dorien Ford, who came to Pitt as the 12th-ranked prospect in Pennsylvania but never found a permanent place on the field, entered the NCAA transfer portal Thursday.

Ford (6-foot-4, 325 pounds) was initially a defensive tackle when he joined Pitt’s class of 2021, but he moved to offensive guard prior to the 2023 season. In three seasons, he played briefly in 11 games, never as a starter.

At Baldwin, Ford was a four-year starter as a fullback and offensive and defensive lineman. He also was named to the Trib’s Terrific 25.

He is the seventh Pitt player and first offensive lineman to announce plans to transfer since the conclusion of this year’s spring drills. He joins a group that includes defensive ends Dayon Hayes and Antonio Camon, tight end Cole Mitchell, wide receiver Izzy Polk, linebacker Solomon DeShields and quarterback Christian Veilleux. Hayes and DeShields were projected starters.
