INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 76-70) jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on for an 8-7 victory over St. Paul (Twins) in the season’s penultimate game. 1B Jake Lamb (.264) went 2 for 4 and hit a three-run homer, his seventh. DH Joshua Palacios (.294) went 1 for 4 with a two-run home run, his fifth. LF Andres Alvarez (.275) went 3 for 3 with a triple and a run scored. LHP Michael Plassmeyer (7.93) started and gave up five runs on six hits and two walks in 1⅔ innings. RHP Aaron Shortridge (3-4, 5.18) then went 5⅓ innings, giving up two runs on four hits to earn the win. LHP Geronimo Franzua (4.55) and RHP Connor Sadzeck (4.66) each pitched a scoreless inning. Sadzeck picked up his ninth save.
