Pirates farm report for Sept. 1, 2024: Indians smack 4 homers to rally past Louisville

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 65-64) overcame a seven-run deficit to beat Louisville (Reds), 10-9. It was the biggest comeback victory for the Indians since 2005. C Dylan Shockley (.245) hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning for the winning run. Shockley went 2 for 4. 3B/2B Nick Yorke (.328) was 3 for 5 with a two-run homer. LF Edward Olivares (.256) hit a two-run home run. RF Billy Cook (.280) hit a three-run home run. 2B/CF Ji Hwan Bae (.354) was 2 for 5. 1B Seth Beer (.287) was 1 for 1 with an RBI. RHP Beau Sulser (5.31) started and allowed four runs on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts in four innings. RHP Ryder Ryan (1-1, 5.23) earned the win after allowing one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Next: Monday at Toledo (Tigers), 4:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 55-71) scored all its runs in the eighth inning and defeated New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 5-2, to complete a six-game sweep. The Curve walked five times in the eighth inning. 2B/SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.213) hit a sacrifice fly. RF Tres Gonzalez (.235) singled home a run. LF Matt Fraizer (.232) and SS/3B Kervin Pichardo (.255) each were 1 for 3. LHP Nick Dombkowski (3.29) threw four perfect innings with three strikeouts. LHP Cy Nielson (2-1, 8.36) allowed no runs on one hit with two strikeouts in two innings of relief and earned the win.

Next: Tuesday at Hartford (Rockies), 7:10 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 70-54) fell 3-2 to Rome (Braves). LF P.J. Hilson (.266) was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. RF Lonnie White Jr. (.163) was 2 for 3 with an RBI and double. CF Hudson Head (.211) went 1 for 4. 2B Mitch Jebb (.255) was 0 for 5. LHP Michael Kennedy (1.80) started and allowed one run on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings. RHP Landon Tomkins (1-2, 6.14) took the loss after giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit with a walk in an inning of relief.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 52-74) was crushed 18-4 by Tampa (Rays). CF Will Taylor (.174) was 3 for 5 with a solo homer and two runs scored. DH Keiner Delgado (.230) was 2 for 5 with a double and RBI. RF Shalin Polanco (.186) was 2 for 4 with a triple and RBI. 3B Yordany De Los Santos (.192) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Khristian Curtis (4.16) allowed one run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in three innings. RHP Tyler Kennedy (1-3, 10.23) took the loss after giving up four runs on two hits with two walks without getting an out in the fourth inning.
