Mt. Pleasant’s Napper wins Tri-State PGA Isaly’s Junior Player of the Year

Mt. Pleasant’s Sam Napper won the Tri-State PGA Isaly’s Junior Boys Player of the Year honors for the 17-18 Division on Thursday at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort Mystic Rock Golf Course.

Napper shot a 5-over par 77 to edge Meadville’s Ryan Ferry, who shot a 6-over 78.

Todd Hangliter of Seven Fields was third, Jake Caldwell of Belle Vernon was fourth and Brady Atchison of Rockwood was fifth.

Napper won the Westmoreland County Junior Amateur title earlier this summer.

The 15-16 Division champion was Scott Jordan of Pittsburgh. He shot a 3-over par 75, while the 11-14 winner was Joe Miller of Glenshaw, who shot an even-par 72.

The Girls Player of the Year was Paige Scott of Butler, who edged Natalie Brosig of Erie in a playoff. Both golfers shot a 5-over 77.

The 11-15 winner was Lindsey Powanda of Mt. Lebanon, who shot a 1-under par 71.
