Minor league report: Nailers’ winning streak reaches 9

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 31 saves on 33 shots for the Wheeling Nailers who extended a winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 win against the Kalamazoo Wings at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Friday.

Murashov’s record improved to 8-2-0 while forward Jordan Martel paced the offense for Wheeling (13-3-1-0) with a goal and an assist.

The Nailers’ franchise record for longest winning streak — since the club moved to Wheeling in 1992 — is 12, shared by the 2003-04 and 2023-24 teams.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, 4 p.m.
