Penguins defensive prospect Clayton Phillips scored his first goal of the season for Penn State in a 7-3 road loss to Wisconsin at LaBahn Arena in Madison, Wis. on Tuesday.
Phillips goal was a power-play score at 9:54 of the third period.
It was the second point in as many games for Phillips, 21, who was selected by the Penguins in the third round (No. 93 overall) in the 2017 draft.
Forward Alex Limoges paced Penn State (0-4-0) with a goal and an assist while forward Sam Sternschein added two assists. Goaltender Liam Souliere made 20 saves on 26 shots in the defeat.
Penn State’s next game will be its home opener against Michigan at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa. on Dec. 2, 6 p.m.
