Franklin Regional grads Lee, Kemerer No. 1 in NCAA wrestling rankings

Two Franklin Regional grads – Spencer Lee and Michael Kemerer – are ranked No. 1 according to the latest NCAA coaches rankings. Both wrestle for No. 1 Iowa.

Lee, a two-time NCAA champion, is ranked No. 1 at 125 pounds. Kemerer, a two-time NCAA placewinner and three-time All-American, is ranked No. 1 at 174. He was seeded No. 2 before the 2020 NCAA tournament was canceled.

Pitt’s Micky Phillippi is ranked No. 3 at 133 pounds behind Penn State’s Roman Bravo-Young and Iowa’s Austin DeSanto.

Penn State’s Nick Lee (141) and Aaron Brooks (187) are ranked No. 2.

Michigan is ranked No. 2 behind Iowa and Penn State is now No. 3.

The NCAA also announced conference allocations for the NCAA Championships on March 18-20 at St. Louis.
