Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Jack Rathbone has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

Puckpedia reported the transaction.

The Pittsburgh Penguins traded for Rathbone in mid-October, acquiring him from the Vancouver Canucks in a multi-player deal. Spending the entire season at the American Hockey League level, the 25-year-old Rathbone (5-foot-11, 182 pounds) appeared in 69 games and scored 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists), including his time with the Abbottsford Canucks.

The left-handed defenseman just completed a two-year, one-way contract with a salary cap hit of $850,000.
