After spending the past three seasons as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach, Mike Sullivan has transitioned into a role as senior offensive assistant.

Sullivan’s new title is listed on the Steelers official website.

Sullivan remained with the organization and agreed to a new role when the Steelers hired former Los Angeles Chargers assistant Tom Arth as quarterbacks coach earlier this month.

Sullivan joined the Steelers staff in 2021, the final year of Ben Roethlisberger’s career, and he was quarterbacks coach for Kenny Pickett and backups Mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky. Sullivan became the game-day play caller after offensive coordinator Matt Canada was fired in November.

In other moves among the coaching staff, the Steelers have hired Matt Baker as an offensive assistant. Baker had been a special teams assistant in Atlanta under former head coach Arthur Smith, who became Steelers offensive coordinator after he was fired by the Falcons.

Former Boston College strength and conditioning coordinator Phil Matusz was hired to take over the same role. He replaces Marcel Pastoor, who did not return to the organization after a 23-year tenure. Also hired was Justus Galac as assistant strength and conditioning coach. He returns to the Steelers after serving as a seasonal strength and conditioning coach in 2021. He spent the past two seasons at Temple.

Roderick Moore has been added as a sports science coordinator for strength and conditioning. He also worked under Smith with the Falcons, serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in Atlanta.
