We have an update to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ “Here We Go” song. There is a lot of news surrounding the departure of John Harbaugh from the Baltimore Ravens.

Ben Roethlisberger has some advice for the Steelers’ defense. And Duquesne looks to rebound from a home conference loss on the basketball court.

All of that comes your way in Wednesday’s “First Call.”

Here We Go

The traditional playoff update to the Steelers’ playoff song has been released by Roger Wood.

The song’s writer and singer modifies a new version of the tune every time the Steelers make the postseason.

TribLive news partner WTAE interviewed Wood at his son’s recording studio, where the song was put together for 2026.

Wood claims the song was ready to go prior to the Cleveland loss, but needed a last-minute rewrite after Darnell Washington broke his arm.

Harbaugh happenings

The fallout from John Harbaugh’s firing in Baltimore is underway. The Ravens posted this goodbye message from the coach after he was relieved of his duties Tuesday.

According to The Athletic, Harbaugh didn’t even have time to inform his staff on his own about his dismissal.

The outlet is also going so far as to report that some teams that have coaches in place may be willing to move on from their current coaches to hire Harbaugh instead.

One team that does have an opening that appears to be very interested is the New York Giants, according to longtime New York football writer Gary Myers.

Meanwhile, one of Harbaugh’s former players, Marlon Humphrey, posted this message.

Harbaugh coached the Ravens for 18 years, won a Super Bowl, 180 regular-season games and 13 more in the playoffs.

Now it’s Nico

The Houston Texans come to Acrisure Stadium on Monday Night as the Steelers’ first 2025 AFC playoff opponent. Everyone is talking about how the Steelers will be challenged to move the ball against their top-ranked defense.

However, when Houston has the ball, the offense can present problems too — especially when quarterback C.J. Stroud is throwing to receiver Nico Collins.

The 6-foot-4, 222-pound target racked up 1,117 receiving yards this year, ninth most in the NFL. He was sixth in yards per reception at 15.7.

During his latest “Footbahlin’” podcast, former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said that the club should deploy Joey Porter Jr. on Collins and let them battle 1-on-1.

“Put Joey Porter on him. I would let Joey follow him like we used to do with Ike Taylor,” Roethlisberger said at the 33:33 mark. “He can’t change the game. I challenge you to step up. You’re not a rookie anymore. It’s your time. You want to be elite? Here you go.”

Last week, the Steelers did a great job on Baltimore’s Zay Flowers for the first three quarters. But he exploded for two long touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Philly bound

The Duquesne men’s basketball team is on the road for its third Atlantic 10 game of the season Wednesday night. The Dukes are at Saint Joseph’s at 7 p.m.

Duquesne comes in at 9-6 after splitting their first two A-10 games — a win at Davidson on Dec. 30, and a loss at home to VCU on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Hawks are 8-7 with a 0-2 start in conference play, having fallen to St. Louis and Davidson.

DraftKings has the Dukes as a 2.5-point road favorite. The two clubs split their games against each other last year, with both teams winning by four-point margins on their own home floors.

Following that game, the Dukes return for a home game against Dayton on Tuesday night. The Flyers beat George Washington, 79-72, on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pitt doesn’t get back on the court again until Syracuse comes to town Saturday. Robert Morris next plays Sunday at home against Purdue Fort Wayne.
