Duquesne public address announcer dies of covid complications

Duquesne basketball public address announcer Dom Errico died Thursday afternoon after a long battle with covid-19, the school confirmed Thursday night. He was 42.

Errico, who attended Deer Lakes High School, was hospitalized since Jan. 25. He is survived by his wife, Libbie, and sons Nicholas, 10, and Anthony, 5. A GoFundMe account has been started to raise money for the family.

Errico was the public address voice of a multitude of Western Pennsylvania sporting events, including Duquesne basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse and volleyball since 2014 as well as several NCAA events, the Freeport International Baseball Invitational and Pittsburgh Power football.
