Brennan Marion has emerged as a candidate for the head football coach vacancy at Tulsa, the college alma mater of the former Greensburg Salem standout.

Marion confirmed he interviewed for the opening after Tulsa let Philip Montgomery go after eight seasons.

A former wide receiver plagued by knee injuries, Marion turned to coaching and gained notoriety for his Go-Go offense that first caught on at Howard. Marion, the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Texas, coached wideouts at Pitt for nine months in 2021 before joining the Longhorns last December.

The 35-year-old Marion also had coaching stops at Hawaii and William & Mary.

When he played at Tulsa, he led the country in yards per reception with 31.9, setting an FBS record. He signed as a free agent with the Miani Dolphins but tore his ACL in camp in 2009.
