The novel coronavirus knows no borders, and neither does arguably the biggest rivalry in Pennsylvania.
Western Pennsylvania favorite Sheetz teamed up with Philadelphia-area favorite Wawa to provide emergency food bank relief in the eastern part of the state for those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, the chains announced Friday.
The stores donated 1,000 lunches and $4,000 to Helping Harvest Food Bank in Reading and Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania.

The lunches included a turkey sandwich, cookie, fruit cup, string cheese and a bottle of water.
PennLive reported that Helping Harvest planned to identify seniors who were most in need of the lunches and would deliver them directly to those people.
“With a combined mission of feeding people, our hope is to support those impacted by this pandemic, to provide relief to ensure that food is not added to the list of worries as we fight this pandemic,” Sheetz CEO Joe Sheetz said in a statement.
