A father and his two children died in a fatal crash after they were struck by a tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

Donnell Hickson, 43, and an 11-year-old girl, both of Baldwin, New York, and Decir Hickson, 18, of Pittsburgh, died at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner’s office said. All three deaths were ruled accidental.

The crash occurred at 4:25 a.m. on July 20 along I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) in Penn Township, around mile marker 268.8. Both vehicles were headed eastbound.

A tractor-trailer struck the Honda Accord, which was traveling in the right lane, according to Pennsylvania State police. Troopers said the crash forced both vehicles off the roadway. When the coroner’s office arrived, they said the Honda Accord was “heavily damaged.”

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
