A Zelienople man is facing multiple charges after police say he pointed a gun at an Allegheny County Housing Authority officer on Thursday.

The officer encountered three people shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday near the authority’s Ohio View Acres on the 200 block of Jefferson Drive in Stowe Township, one of whom had been previously cited for trespassing. Police said the officer attempted to speak with one of them, later identified as Donald Reese, 26, of Zelienople.

Allegheny County Police said Reese pulled out a black handgun as the officer was approaching and pointed it, stopping the officer’s pursuit before Reese fled from the area.

Two county police investigative teams responded to the scene and found Reese nearby after noticing a juvenile climbing through the back window of a nearby home.

Reese was standing near the home, police said. He again tried to flee from officers and allegedly tossed a gun, which was recovered shortly after he was taken into custody.

Detectives determined that Reese forced the juvenile at gunpoint to take him to the home, where he attempted to make several phone calls and ordered the juvenile to climb through the window to get him a change of clothes.

Reese was charged with aggravated assault, robbery, reckless endangering, fleeing police, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, unlawful restraint of a minor and false imprisonment. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail. An April 16 preliminary hearing is scheduled in Judge Bruce Boni’s McKees Rocks court.

Reese already was facing an arrest warrant on aggravated assault charges stemming from a March 31 incident in Butler County.
