Three adults and three children escaped unharmed after fire broke out on the porch of their mobile home Friday night in East Huntingdon.

Homeowner Janice Prolenski said all of the family members were inside the residence when a Holiday Court neighbor banged on the window to alert them that the porch was on fire.

“We threw some water on it, and got the kids and everybody out,” said Prolenski.

She praised firefighters for their quick response.

“It was pretty much out when they got here, but they made sure everything was good,” she said.

Damage was limited to the porch and some chairs on it, she said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, she said.

Firefighters couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Friday night. Units from the Tarrs fire station were among companies dispatched to the scene shortly after 8 p.m.
