The Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association is accepting nominations through July 8 for the three awards is presents each year.
The awards, Alumnus of Distinction, Volunteer Excellence, and Young Alumni Leadership, recognize Pitt-Greensburg alumni for their professional accomplishments, service to their communities, and commitment to the Pitt-Greensburg.
The Alumnus of Distinction Award, established in 2001, is the highest honor given by the association to an individual. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their outstanding level of professional achievement, service to the community, service to the University of Pittsburgh, any special recognition or honors, and other special efforts or success. The honoree will also be asked to serve as the Alumni Marshall during Commencement activities in April of the same academic year.
The Volunteer Excellence Award was established in 2009 to recognize alumni who volunteer their time to the association and the University. When designating an alumnus or alumna as a particular year’s Volunteer of Excellence, his or her award certificate indicates that they have been designated as such, “for outstanding service to the Alumni Association and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.”
The Young Alumni Leadership Award, initiated in 2015, recognizes established and future leaders among Pitt-Greensburg’s young alumni. It was created to recognize and honor Pitt-Greensburg young alumni, ages 35 and under, for their accomplishments and service.
The winners will be feted at a dinner during the campus’s Blue & Gold Celebration, which is held in October.
