A 41-year-old North Huntingdon woman who became combative with paramedics and police as they carried her to an ambulance early Wednesday was charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.
Tara S. Nehas was arraigned after her release from UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville, where she was treated for an alleged heroin overdose about 2:40 a.m., according to court records.
Police and paramedics were called to a residence of the 200 block of Clay Pike by a relative of Nehas after she became combative with the relatives as they attempted to treat her with Narcan for an overdose.
Police reported that Nehas refused to cooperate or say what she had taken. She was handcuffed after threatening to harm paramedics and police. She again became “physically combative” and again threatened to harm the first responders when being taken to an ambulance and bit a paramedic as she was being secured on a stretcher, police reported. Nehas continued to struggle with staff and security at the hospital, police said.
Nehas was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled July 29.
