A 22-year-old Monongahela man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 30 early Sunday, Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson said.

Police said Dominic A. Bottino, 22, of Cedarwood Drive in Monongahela, was walking across a divided section of Route 30 in the area of Dollar Bank shortly after 2 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle, Carson said.

The driver, a 50-year-old Greensburg man in a Jeep Gladiator, spoke with state police.

Bottino, who police said was wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans, was in the eastbound lanes with no established crosswalk when he was struck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carson ruled the death an accident caused by blunt force injuries. Toxicology test results will not be available for several weeks.

No charges have been filed.
