A man who was hit by a pickup truck that was clearing snow in Hempfield died Sunday in a Pittsburgh hospital.

Paul Tucci, 73, of Southwest Greensburg, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and torso, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

State police said Tucci was walking in the parking lot of a orthopedics office on Pellis Road Jan. 6 when a Chevrolet Silverado hit him. Troopers said the truck, which was equipped with a snow plow and salt spreader, was in reverse at the time and hit the man with its back end.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police continue to investigate. No charges have been filed.

Tucci was a retired accountant who enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, according to his obituary. He is survived by a wife, two daughters, two grandchildren, a sister and other relatives.
