Latrobe Police Department will be hosting a Youth Appreciation Day for children in kindergarten through seventh grade on Aug. 3.

The day will start off at 10 a.m. at the Latrobe Art Center where children will paint rocks with officers and art center staff. They will then be taken to the police station where they will watch a fire safety, internet safety and police dog demonstration. Lunch will be provided to the kids and they will have an opportunity to jump in a bouncy house after the demonstrations until about 3 p.m.

Applications are available at the city municipal building on Jefferson Street, or on Savvy Citizen. Applications are due by July 14. Acceptances are capped at 40 children due to space limitations.
