Two people were evacuated from an apartment fire early Tuesday morning along First Street in Irwin, according to a Westmoreland 911 supervisor.

At about 12:45 a.m., a cooking fire broke out in the apartment’s kitchen, the supervisor said. Video from the scene, via Tribune-Review news partner WPXI, showed heavy smoke coming from the window of the wood frame duplex.

Officials said no one was taken to the hospital.

The fire was knocked down by 1:45 a.m.
