A section of eastbound Route 30 in Hempfield Township is down to a single lane following a two-vehicle accident with injuries, according to authorities.

The wreck occurred shortly after 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Westwood Drive near the Alpine Pools store, according to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor.

First reponders reported that four patients were being evaluated at the scene, but no information was available about the nature or severity of their injuries or if they needed to be transported to the hospital for treatment.

One of the lanes remained open to allow motorists past the crash scene, authorities said.
