A woman pleaded guilty to lesser charges Wednesday in a case brought after she was accused of running over her boyfriend with a car at a Hempfield home last year.

Cassidy Christi Colbert, 30, of East McKeesport, was originally charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and other related offenses for the Sept. 16 incident, which police described in court documents as a domestic dispute.

Colbert was scheduled for a nonjury trial on Wednesday but pleaded guilty as part of a deal with prosecutors in which they dismissed the most serious assault counts. Colbert pleaded guilty to two felony child endangerment offenses and one misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment.

Colbert’s 9-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle during the incident, police said.

According to court records, Colbert and the man were fighting when she ran over him with her Chevrolet Cruze and fled, leaving him on a driveway for about 30 minutes as a 3-year-old child sought help from neighbors. Police said the man had numerous cuts and bruises and a possible hip or pelvis fracture. His clothes were covered with dirt and tire marks appeared across his chest, authorities said.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio sentenced Colbert to serve five years of probation with two months of house arrest, ordered she complete parenting and anger management classes and pay nearly $66,000 in restitution to cover the man’s medical expenses.

The judge also ordered Colbert to have a mental health evaluation.
