A Greensburg man will serve up to 10 years in prison for a six-month crime spree throughout the city last year.
Cory Jording, 25, pleaded guilty to charges in eight separate cases including the robbery of convenience stores and other retail businesses that ended with his arrest in January.
According to court records, Jording and his brother, Joshua, stole a wallet and gun and drugs from a man last December, then two weeks later they broke into the Puff ’n Stuff store in Greensburg and took more than $2,500 of cigarettes and lottery tickets.
Cory Jording also pleaded guilty to thefts in October 2022 at a Dollar General store and Shop ’n Save market in Greensburg as well as a theft at a local Walmart and separate charges of illegal possession of drugs.
According to court records, the Jording brothers were taken into custody by the Westmoreland County Sheriff Office’s warrant division. The brothers were wanted on several outstanding warrants and were captured at a motel in New Stanton, officials said.
In court Monday, Cory Jording pleaded guilty to 14 counts, including robbery, theft, conspiracy, drug offenses and illegal possession of a weapon. Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Feliciani sentenced him to serve three to 10 years in prison. He was given credit for time he served in jail since July.
Joshua Jording, 34, of Latrobe pleaded guilty this year to charges in multiple cases, including the Puff ’N Snuff incident. He is also serving a three-to-10 year prison sentence.
