An East Huntingdon man was sentenced Friday to seven years of probation in connection with a Greensburg street brawl three years ago.
Judge Christopher Feliciani ordered Tyler J. Griffiths, 24, to spend 18 months on house arrest.
Griffiths pleaded guilty in March to aggravated harassment by prisoner, resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault, according to court records. City police said he used a term demeaning to people with mental challenges inside a West Pittsburgh Street bar June 9, 2021, which triggered a street fight among 20 people.
He assaulted two women outside the bar and fled the scene, but police found Griffiths on South Main Street and took him into custody, according to court papers. While in a holding cell at the police station, he threw toilet water at officers.
Feliciani ordered Griffiths to complete a drug and alcohol assessment and do 50 hours of community service. An aggravated assault charge was dismissed by prosecutors, according to a sentencing order.
