A Rhode Island woman charged this month with prostitution told Greensburg police a city woman paid for her to fly to Western Pennsylvania for a visit and to “make some money,” police said.

Greensburg police this week arrested Nicole Vickers, 28, on charges that she was promoting prostitution following an undercover sting on April 28. Investigators said they responded to an advertisement on the website, “Skip the Games,” which police allege is used to promote prostitution.

Also arrested was Nicole M. Moynihan, 32, of Greensburg. She is charged with promoting prostitution and running a prostitution business.

Vickers told police she lives in Rhode Island, but Moynihan paid for her flight and transportation to Greensburg so she could “visit her and make some money,” according to court documents. Vickers also told police she has been involved in prostitution “for many years” and recently was arrested in Connecticut before travelling to Greensburg.

Greensburg police in August arrested Moynihan on prostitution charges. She pleaded guilty March 9 before Judge Chris Feliciani to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct, which allowed her to avoid jail time, according to court dockets.

Vickers told police Moynihan wrote and paid for her online advertisement.

Police Lt. Shawn Denning reported he believed from text messages he exchanged with the advertiser that he had arranged to meet Moynihan. Moments before the rendezvous in an alley near Arch Avenue, Moynihan texted that “her girlfriend” would be meeting him instead.

Denning reported that he agreed to pay $200 for a sex act. He and Patrolman Hank Fontana arrested Vickers as she approached Denning’s undercover vehicle, police reported.

Preliminary hearings are tentatively scheduled July 16. The women were served the complaints via mailed summons, according to court dockets.
