Greensburg Garden Center will hold its popular butterfly release on Aug. 8.

This year’s event will include two separate release sessions, to accommodate social distancing concerns. Release times will be 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Lefevre Butterfly Garden behind the center’s headquarters at 951 Old Salem Road.

A ceremony will precede each release, but the “Butterfly Guy,” Rick Mikula of Luzerne County, will not be present to give his annual talk.

Butterflies can be reserved for $7 each. Center members recommend early reservations, as butterflies tend to sell quickly.

For those concerned about social distancing, butterflies can be picked up curbside on Aug. 8 for release at home.
