Antiques & Collectibles Sales at Historic Hanna’s Town
On Sunday, Oct. 8, Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road in Hempfield, will host its final Antiques & Collectibles Sale of the 2023 season. The event provides buying and selling opportunities from a variety of vendors for antiques and unique treasures. The sale will take place rain or shine.
The gates will open at 7:30 a.m., and the market will continue through early afternoon. Admission is $3 per car. Profits from parking will be split between the Forbes Road Volunteer Fire Department and the Westmoreland Historical Society, which manages Historic Hanna’s Town for Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation.

Latrobe Art Center’s Annual Silent Auction
Latrobe Art Center’s Silent Auction will be hitting its halfway mark Sunday, Oct. 8. The annual two-week auction began on Oct.1 with original artwork donated by Latrobe Art Center member artists, specialty gift baskets and sports memorabilia. The auction ends Oct. 14.

The Palace Theatre: Some Enchanted Evening
On Saturday, Oct. 7, River City Brass opens its season with an evening of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, featuring songs from “South Pacific” and “Carousel.” Other Broadway favorites will include “Hello, Dolly!” and “Evita.” Guest artists and soloists will include Drew Fennell, Stephen McGough and Shawn Wilson.

Sixth Annual Veteran Bushido Festival
At 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, the Sixth Annual Veteran Bushido Festival will be hosted in Hempfield Park on Forbes Trail Road. The nonprofit event will feature live music, food, drinks and vendors. Throughout the day, a jiu jitsu competition will take place along with raffles.

Library Libations
From 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library will host a fundraising cocktail party with the returning series Library Libations. With the theme “Celebrating the Classics! ‘Great Books’ for a Great Cause,” guests will mark the successes of the year including the Family Place Library title that was awarded to the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library this year.
The dress code for the event is cocktail attire. All attendees must be 21 years or older. The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, live music, socializing, dancing and raffles.
