A North Huntingdon Walmart store sold a $1 million-winning Jackpot Scratch-Off ticket, according to Pennsylvania Lottery.
The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket, according to Pennsylvania Lottery. Walmart store managers declined to comment when reached by TribLive over the phone.
Jackpot is a $20 game that offers prizes up to $1 million. Scratch-Offs are distributed at random, meaning Pennsylvania Lottery learns where winning tickets are sold only after the prize has been claimed.
Western Pennsylvania has seen its fair share of lottery winnings in recent months.
One of two $500,000 jackpot-winning tickets were sold at the Adzema Pharmacy along Perry Highway in McCandless, Pennsylvania Lottery said Wednesday. The other was sold at Valley Mart on South Main Street in Luzerne County’s Wilkes-Barre.
A Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket sold in December at Giant Eagle along Butler Plank Road in Shaler won $770,000.
The Giant Eagle on Tarentum Bridge Road in New Kensington also sold a $180,566-winning Suite Winnings ticket, the lottery reported in November.
