Verizon outages that plagued Harrison and Tarentum over the weekend have been restored, but now are being felt in New Kensington and Plum.
Andy Choi, head of communications, said Verizon experienced fiber cuts on Monday that are causing additional disruptions.
The network was impacted late Friday, causing limits on data, voice, text and wireless home internet.
“Technicians worked around the clock to resolve the issue, and service has been restored for most customers,” Choi said.
Teams are working to resolve the most recent issue as quickly as possible, Choi said.
Phone and internet troubles began early Monday in Plum and New Kensington. Crews expect to resolve problems in Plum within 18 hours and in New Kensington within 24 hours.
In Harrison, Tarentum and West Deer, people started posting about widespread dropped calls Friday night. People said there also was no service at Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer and in Lower Burrell.
Service was expected to be restored in 15 hours, but work stretched for nearly two days.
