No one was hurt in a vehicle fire Sunday morning on Route 28 in Armstrong County, according to Freeport Fire-EMS.

The fire on northbound Route 28 just north of the Buffalo High Level Bridge in South Buffalo was reported around 9:30 a.m., according to Armstrong County 911.

Freeport Fire-EMS was called to help the South Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department on the call. A representative of the South Buffalo fire department could not immediately be reached for comment.

Images Freeport shared on social media showed the vehicle, a dark-colored Hyundai, engulfed in flames.

Traffic was briefly interrupted while firefighters extinguished the fire, and crews were at the scene for about an hour.

No information on the cause of the fire was immediately available. State police could not be reached for comment.
