An Allegheny County judge sentenced a Tarentum man to five years of probation for incidents involving a child over a period of years.
Craig Lombardi, 40, pleaded guilty Tuesday to three charges related to the assaults — corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and simple assault — in front of Common Pleas Judge Bruce R. Beemer.
In September 2021, Lombardi initially was arrested by Allegheny County Police on 10 charges, ranging from rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, the court docket shows.
He was found not guilty of the rape charge Jan. 27. He received a mistrial for a hung jury on the remaining charges, according to the docket.
The nonjury trial in front of Beemer was to take place this week, but Lombardi pleaded guilty to the lesser charges.
“Mr. Lombardi categorically denies any sexual misconduct,” said Pittsburgh-based attorney Matthew Ness, who represented Lombardi.
Rebecca D. Spangler, first assistant with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, confirmed the terms of the sentencing. She said the child provided a victim impact statement to the court.
