Nine live bands and more than 130 auction items are in store when the Officer Brian Shaw Foundation Concert Series returns to Lower Burrell on Saturday.

The event runs from 2 p.m until midnight at Mogie’s Irish Pub in Lower Burrell.

Admission is $10.

“The community just really likes to come together,” said Amber Adda, a committee member with the Shaw foundation.

Shaw, 25, of Lower Burrell was serving as a New Kensington police officer when he was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2017.

Proceeds from the event benefit local communities and police departments.

Each year, Adda said, the foundation awards four scholarships to students at Burrell and Valley high schools. It also has purchased four K-9s for the Lower Burrell, New Kensington, Northern Regional and Allegheny Valley police departments.

“It’s all for a good cause,” said Dave “Mogie” Magill, the pub’s owner.

Doors will open at noon. The band lineup will begin at 2 p.m. and features Kirk Thoma, Tim Schmider, The Rust Project, TKO – The Knockoffs, Curtis and Black n’ Blue, Elliana Koulouris, Doug Carnahan, DD & The Lost Decade, and Norm Nardini.

More than 130 items comprise the auction, with some highlights being a Yeti cooler and a 55-inch flat-screen TV, Adda said.

There also will be a raffle for $20 per chance for season passes to Steelers home games, she said.

She thanked local businesses for their donations, including Seita Jewelers, Salem’s Auto Body, A Finished Appearance and Wildlife Lanes.

A T-shirt design by sports artist Larry “Klu” Klukaszewski will be available for $20.

Magill said the concert series is something all ages can enjoy.

Last year, the concert raised $13,118 for the Shaw Foundation, Adda said.

Mogie’s Irish Pub is at 3210 Leechburg Road.
