A New Kensington man is accused of stabbing three people after a basketball game Saturday night at a park in Harrison.

A criminal complaint filed against Terrell Ellis, 33, said he got into an argument with an 18-year-old from Tarentum, a juvenile from Baltimore and a 21-year-old from Euclid, Ohio, because he believed one of them had stolen his wallet at the Natrona Park and Playground.

After the four finished playing basketball, Ellis ordered the other three to empty their pockets, police said. Ellis pulled a knife on the others and attacked them with it, police said.

After suffering injuries, the two men and the juvenile ran to the backyard of a nearby home as Ellis tried to leave the scene, the complaint said. Police found Ellis injured in the passenger seat of a car at the corner of Federal Street and River Avenue, according to the complaint.

Police said they found a 4-inch knife and blood in a nearby portable toilet. Ellis, the two other men and the juvenile were taken to nearby hospitals. Ellis later was transferred to Allegheny County Jail, where he is being held without bail.

Harrison police Chief Brian Turack could not provide an update on any of the victims’ conditions or detail the severity of their injuries.

Ellis is charged with multiple counts of felony aggravated assault, possessing instruments of a crime and simple assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 17.
