Laurel Highlands football standout Antwan Black Jr. was transported by medical helicopter from Kiski Area after suffering an injury during a game Friday night in Allegheny Township.

First responders called for a medical helicopter around 9:40 p.m., in response to Black’s injury at the game at Richard Dilts Field on the Kiski Area High School campus, according to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor.

Reached by text message after the game, Laurel Highlands coach Rich Kolesar said Black was “doing better.” He did not elaborate on the nature of the injury.

Black is one of the top players in the WPIAL. A 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback, Black has scholarship offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia and Toledo.
