One person was taken to a hospital after their car struck another vehicle at the intersection of Freeport and Burtner roads in Harrison and pushed it into a building.

Just before 4 p.m. Monday, an orange car was traveling westbound on Burtner Road when it hit a white cargo van traveling in the northbound lanes on Freeport Road, Harrison police Sgt. Christopher Cottone said.

The force of the crash pushed the van into the building at 2300 Freeport Road, which also is home to The Dance Place.

No one was inside the building at the time of the crash, Cottone said.

Cottone said police will use surveillance footage to investigate what led to the crash.

The driver of the orange car was taken by ambulance to a hospital, Cottone said.

Police continue to investigate.
