Pittsburgh Police said they have taken a suspect into custody following an early morning SWAT call to the city’s East Hills neighborhood.

One person was removed from the scene around 7:20 a.m.

According to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI, police were called to a residence on the 1700 block of Maplewood Avenue around 3:30 a.m. for an assault call.

A news crew at the scene reported seeing an officer with a rifle searching a wooded area.

Maplewood Avenue has been closed down between Tokay and James streets.

The public is asked to avoid the 1700 block of Maplewood as police wrap up the scene.
