For a few thousand dollars, you can own a piece of Kennywood’s Phantom’s Revenge steel roller coaster.

A retired lead car from the Phantom’s Revenge is up for auction to benefit Florida-based Give Kids the World nonprofit.

“Yesterday, we asked you to tell us your favorite Kennywood coaster,” read a post from the West Mifflin amusement park on Tuesday. “Today, you have a chance to own a piece of your favorite Kennywood coaster.”

The dusty green and purple car, described appropriately in the eBay listing as “used,” is “decommissioned and is for display purposes only now.”

As of mid-afternoon Tuesday, the latest bid was $3,050. Bidding remains open until Monday. The winning bidder has to pick-up the car from Kennywood.

Proceeds benefit Give Kids the World Village, an 89-acre nonprofit resort with a storybook theme. The resort provides free week-long stays to critically ill kids and their families from around the world.

Since its inception in 1986, the resort has housed more than 176,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries, according to the nonprofit.

The current iteration of the coaster launched in 2001 though it was a redesign of the Steel Phantom, its predecessor. The original was built in 1991, and the initial plan in 2000 was to replace it. Outcry, however, prompted the park to revamp it instead.

The Phantom’s Revenge was recently named the second-best roller coaster in America by the USA Today 10 Best poll. The top spot went to Mako at SeaWorld in Orlando.
