Students at Pittsburgh Brashear, Pittsburgh Brashear Early Head Start, and Pittsburgh South Hills 6-8 will attend classes remotely on Thursday because of an air conditioning outage, according to an announcement from Pittsburgh Public Schools Wednesday night.

Because the school on Crane Avenue is designed for air conditioning, it doesn’t have enough windows to allow proper air flow without it, which is a concern as temperatures are projected to reach the 80s on Thursday, the district said.

Teachers will teach live online classes on Microsoft Teams for students from the three schools.

Pittsburgh Brashear student leaders who were planning to attend a field trip to the zoo Thursday were asked to arrive at the school at 9:15 a.m. to board their bus.
